Cyprus–Greece Ferry 2026: AF Marina Replaces Daleela on Limassol–Piraeus Route

Cyprus–Greece passenger ferry is back for summer 2026 — this time on the AF Marina

The Limassol–Piraeus passenger ferry returns for a fifth consecutive season this summer, but with a new vessel on the route. The AF Marina, operating under the Italian flag for contractor Scandro Holding Ltd, will replace the Daleela from the end of May through early September.

Ticket sales open 22 April 2026 and the first sailing is 29 May, with the final return voyage scheduled for 1 September. Twenty-two round trips are planned for the season.

What's different this year

The vessel is bigger and better-appointed than the Daleela it replaces. Key onboard facts:

Cabin mix: 10 double, 20 single, 58 quadruple, 2 triple (accessibility-equipped), 8 quadruple pet-friendly
Additional seating: 84 lounge seats for shorter-stay passengers

Only the Piraeus ↔ Limassol leg is running this year. There are no Larnaca port calls on the 2026 schedule.

Fares, subsidy and the one booking rule to watch

Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanoli confirmed that ticket prices are held at last year's rates. The service is backed by a €5.47 million annual state subsidy plus 6% of ticket revenue, which keeps the line commercially viable against the strong airline competition on this corridor.

The big change for passengers this year is the cancellation policy: no refunds on cancelled bookings — only port charges are returned. If you're not 100% certain about dates, build that into the booking decision.

Why it matters for Cypriot shippers and travellers

For passengers, the ferry remains the only sea alternative to flying between Cyprus and Greece — particularly popular with travellers bringing cars, caravans and pets that are impractical to fly with.

For businesses and importers, the ferry is a RoRo option for time-sensitive freight between Cyprus and mainland Europe via Piraeus. Trucks and trailers can roll on at Limassol and roll off two days later at Piraeus for onward transit across the EU road network — useful for perishables, project cargo, or high-value goods where a 3-day sea freight timeline beats conventional container shipping.
