Fuel Price Increase
The Consumer Protection Service has noted a significant increase in fuel prices, with petroleum products experiencing the largest surge. This comes after two months of price increases following the start of the war in the Middle East.
Price Increases
Compared to April 2025, petroleum products have seen a +18.3% increase, with a +12.6% rise compared to the previous month. Other categories that have seen increases include agricultural products (+9.6%) and services (+3.5%). However, the electricity and water category has seen a -8.0% decrease.
In terms of food, there have been increases in 13 product categories, including frozen shellfish and mollusks (+13.4%), fresh fish and mollusks (+8.8%), laundry detergents (+4.3%), and sugar (+2.5%).
Price Decreases
On the other hand, 31 categories have seen price decreases, including cheese (-16.7%), fresh vegetables and herbs (-14.0%), evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk (-7.9%), and frozen fish (-7.3%).
