Kids Cooking Workshop a Huge Success

On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Alfamega supermarkets successfully hosted a cooking workshop for kids aged 8-14. The workshop, which was part of the company's corporate social responsibility program, aimed to provide a unique experience for the young participants, combining knowledge, creativity, and fun.

The Workshop

The workshop was held in collaboration with Chef and Brand Ambassador of Alfamega supermarkets, Christina Christofi, the Cyprus Dietitians and Nutritionists Association, and with the support of the Intercollege Culinary Arts Programs. The event was a huge success, with many families expressing interest in participating. Due to the high demand, the selection of the 44 children who participated in the workshop was done through an electronic draw.

Activities

The workshop was divided into two groups and included children from all over Cyprus. The program started with an educational session, where members of the Cyprus Dietitians and Nutritionists Association spoke to the children about the importance of healthy eating. The children then participated in a cooking session, where they learned how to prepare healthy meals and snacks.

  • The children learned about the basics of balanced nutrition and the importance of exercise and hydration.
  • They learned how to read food labels and make healthy choices at school and at home.
  • The children also participated in a cooking session, where they prepared their own meals and snacks.

Response

The response to the workshop was overwhelming, with many families expressing interest in participating. Due to the high demand, Alfamega supermarkets will be hosting similar workshops in the future, which will be announced through their social media channels.
