METLEN and HOUTRIS Sign Exclusive Agreement
METLEN, through its subsidiary M Technologies, and Cypriot company HOUTRIS have signed an exclusive agreement to develop new industrial capabilities in the field of defense systems in Cyprus.
Joint Venture
The agreement provides for the creation of a joint company in Cyprus, marking a further strengthening of strategic industrial cooperation between Greece and Cyprus in the field of defense. The goal is to develop additional production capabilities in Cyprus and expand the country's manufacturing, completion, and support capabilities for defense material.
- The partnership will combine M Technologies' international experience, expertise, and advanced industrial capabilities with HOUTRIS' long-standing industrial experience, specialization, and construction capabilities in the Cypriot market.
- The agreement also provides for the transfer of technology, development of specialized skills, and further enhancement of Cyprus' defense industrial base, creating the conditions for faster development of large-scale production capabilities in the field of integrated defense systems.
European Program SAFE
Within the framework of the European program SAFE, the new partnership will produce military vehicles. The two companies will also explore and jointly develop further opportunities in the fields of production, completion, support, and maintenance of defense systems in Cyprus and the wider region, with the goal of creating a long-term presence in the country with a real industrial footprint and substantial added value for the Cypriot economy.
M Technologies and HOUTRIS
M Technologies is the defense arm of METLEN, with significant experience in implementing complex defense industrial programs. It participates in the production and support of advanced defense systems, including the Patriot system, Leopard tanks, and sections of the FDI HN (Belharra) frigates, while developing strategic partnerships with leading international defense industry companies.
HOUTRIS is a well-established Cypriot industrial company specializing in defense, special vehicles, and integrated industrial solutions. It has significant experience in developing, manufacturing, completing, and providing technical support for specialized vehicles and defense systems, having implemented complex projects for the Ministry of Defense, the National Guard, the Fire Service, and other state agencies in Cyprus and abroad.
