PSA and Logtainer Partner on Padua Terminal

PSA and Logtainer Move Ahead with Padua Intermodal Terminal

PSA Intermodal Italy and Logtainer have signed a final agreement to manage the intermodal terminal at Interporto Padova, establishing a new operating company to strengthen Padua’s role in European inland logistics.

Key Highlights of the Partnership

  • PSA Padova, the new company, will take over the management and development of the terminal.
  • PSA Intermodal Italy will hold the majority stake and assume operational responsibility.
  • Interporto Padova will remain a shareholder, keeping the terminal anchored within the regional logistics system.
  • Logtainer will contribute its experience in multimodal transport operations in Italy.

The project forms part of PSA’s broader node-to-network strategy, which seeks to connect ports, inland terminals and transport corridors into more integrated logistics ecosystems.

Benefits of the Partnership

Located in northeastern Italy, Interporto Padova is already connected to the Trans-European Transport Network and serves as a key inland gateway for freight moving between Italian industrial regions, seaports and wider European markets.

PSA aims to develop the terminal as an open, multi-user platform, improving rail, road, and port connectivity while supporting more efficient, lower-emission inland logistics.
